Beautiful Los Gatos cuddles up to the Santa Cruz Mountains' green foothills like a cat, for which the town is named (Gato means cat in Spanish). Los Gatos is one of Santa Clara County's oldest communities, with a population of about 28,850 residents living in a 14 square-mile area. Don't miss the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Town Plaza Park. Vasona Lake County Park is a clean and wonderful family park with a carousel and train rides available each weekend. Play structures at Vasona are great. In addition to the usual swings and climbing play structures there is a child size Train, Old Fashioned Fire Truck, and a cool Jet Fighter Plane kids love to play on. Fishing and boating is also available and there are many biking and jogging trails in and around Lake Vasona. Bring your bikes!

A short 20-minute drive through the Santa Cruz Mountains' redwoods brings you to the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. A 15-minute drive in the other direction will take you to downtown San Jose, Capital of Silicon Valley or the San Jose Norman Mineta International Airport.
